Retired telco night shift TAC supporting DNS, load balancers, yadda, yadda. Haven't yet remembered how not to write in MOP. Yeah, I miss my F5 babies, but the days are still packed. No, I don't really miss Infoblox and yes I do think that Secure64 abandoned a superior OS. Call me crazy.

And thanks to someone for the reminder that I'm more interesting than my job... Which I no longer even possess... Nowadays, I bake, hike, love all doggos unreservedly, help people get to their doctor's appointments, sell records, and try to get through the pile of library books that I shouldn't have taken out all at once.

Anyway, here's Perky. You wouldn't believe how fast she was, nor how little regard she had for anyone else in the world aside from me and the missus. Came from her tough times before we got her at the shelter. Always hoped a kind farmer maybe knew to coax her in with a bit of bacon, gave her a few more good years. We sure loved her so.

...and here's how things are proceeding, with several hours remaining for the boules to rise before they bake in Dutch ovens (they're destined for the local food pantry tomorrow morning; focaccia to accompany dinner, bread forever).

Inspired by @NorcalGma2 post, wanting to share the joy of squash spontaneously sprouting from the compost--we got about 35 little white pumpkins last year, biggest about 2#, never expecting anything, but always happy with the harvest every year when Halloween rolls around. Half the larger ones get roasted, pureed, and canned for smoothies and bread through the year.

Next year I'll start a raised bed for beans (even though I've said that the past several years running, this time it's happening, I mean it!)... And @lyndamerry484 already has me sold on getting moving on carrots (thank you!).

Two whole grain boules rising til tonight; pain de mie, and focaccia will be ready for next steps in 15-20 mins. Defying the long dark teatime, baking out loud with Half Man Half Biscuit on the turntable today 🎶
