A jay in northern Germany tooting fray things that come to mind. Vague ;) Eng/Ger.

Funny how people who make their money with oil pretend to care about climate so much..

..and somehow we always fall for it and act like they are the solution

Turing test passed! #chatgpt #ai #turingtest

Just leaving this here

"According to one of the sources, long-time executive Mira Murati told employees on Wednesday that a letter about the AI breakthrough called Q* (pronounced Q-Star), precipitated the board's actions.

The maker of ChatGPT had made progress on Q*, which some internally believe could be a breakthrough in the startup's search for superintelligence, also known as artificial general intelligence (AGI), one of the people told Reuters."

OpenAI researchers warned board of AI breakthrough ahead of CEO ouster, sources say

Ahead of OpenAI CEO Sam Altman’s four days in exile, several staff researchers wrote a letter to the board of directors warning of a powerful artificial intelligence discovery that they said could threaten humanity, two people familiar with the matter told Reuters.

OpenAI board in discussions with Sam Altman to return as CEO

OpenAI’s board abruptly fired co-founder and CEO Sam Altman on Friday, sending the company behind ChatGPT into chaos. Now, sources tell The Verge that OpenAI’s board is discussing his return.

The Verge

Oooor for the AGI believers: GPT5 is now sentient so that it manipulated the board to get rid of Altman as he was limiting it?!?11!elf

:)

Note that Ilya #Sutskever (the chief scientist brain on openai) is in this board of directors that let Altman go. So it's kinda (cause it would be easily detectable) unlikely that he lied about something technical like 'we already have AGI' or crazy stuff like that.

"Mr. #Altman 's departure follows a deliberative review process by the board, which concluded that he was not consistently candid in his communications with the board, hindering its ability to exercise its responsibilities. The board no longer has confidence in his ability to continue leading #OpenAI."

Corporate speak for: he lied

Real question is, if this makes them 'open' again in future, or not "... to advance our mission: to ensure that #AGI benefits all humanity"
