This was a great interview! It's reassuring to hear such a sensible, no-nonsense attitude coming from all three of you throughout the interview. That kind of balanced approach (different people are in different places regarding privacy and have different needs) is so needed in the privacy discussion spaces. Thanks for everything you guys do @jonah @thenewoil @FirewallDragons @privacyguides !

Stop by the podcast today for a little #privacy advocate chat ... a panel discussion with @privacyguides (Jonah Aragon) and The New Oil (Nate Bartram). We talk about how we evaluate privacy products, who we want to reach, why privacy matters, and more!

@tek Unrelated... maybe... but I absolutely LOVE Motorhead's cover of "Sympathy for the Devil"....
I never connect my TVs to the internet, period. I wonder how much longer that will even be allowed...

Honestly... I'm surprised it took this long. (Roku has to be next... who will it be?)

Podcast - Firewalls Don't Stop Dragons

I have a weekly podcast called Firewalls Don't Stop Dragons. The show is a mix of cybersecurity news and interviews of prominent people in the industry. But like the book, the shows are targeted squarely at everyday, non-technical people - covering the info that everyone needs to know in a way that's accessible and practical.

Firewalls Don't Stop Dragons

I just ran across this list of the Top 10 #privacy books from Book Authority ... I wanted to see if there were any cool books I wasn't aware of... and found my book in the list! :-)

Heads up... you probably want to turn this off before April 1st. It's a little hard to find (and there's no search for settings that I could see):

Settings > Copilot > Features > Privacy > disable

Updates to GitHub Copilot interaction data usage policy

From April 24 onward, interaction data from Copilot Free, Pro, and Pro+ users will be used to train and improve our AI models unless they opt out.

Bad news 😔💔

I am sad to announce today that unfortunately I will not be working with Privacy Guides anymore after the end of this month.

Good news! 🚨

I will be available for a new position or contract, starting in April!

I am looking for a position or contact for:

✊ Digital rights activist (with a specialty in privacy rights)

🔒 Privacy expert or consultant

 Fediverse and Mastodon advocate

🙌 Managerial position

📰 Tech journalist

💻 Technical writer

💚 Or any other fitting positions

I am especially interested in working with nonprofit organisations, cooperatives, open-source projects, privacy-oriented software companies, or any other organisations working for the public good.

🇨🇦 Remote from Canada

All the work I produce is guaranteed to be AI-free

Let me know if you hear of any good opportunities!
