@wdlindsy I look across the border at Wisconsin and shake my head. Serves us in Minnesota a warning: this is what happens if we get complacent! The GOP has truly abandoned democracy and really provided Wisconsinites with nothing in return.

Let's stop pretending it's totally normal for a teacher to be willing to lay down his or her life for their students. No other country in the entire world demands this of their teachers. I don't think Americans understand just how truly weird this idea really is.

If you want safer schools (and we ALL want safer schools), pass reasonable, rational, constitutional gun control laws. Then we will all enjoy the result of safer schools. Don't foist that responsibility off onto the shoulders of our teachers just because you like the sound your little pew pew stick makes.

We are educators, not your personal bodyguards.
