In Israel I've volunteered a couple of times to monitor ballots and counting.
Only need very few people to do it, it is not error prone since redundancy is verified, compared against envelope count, etc.
Any errors that do slip through are very minor in their effect.
With electronic voting, it's easy to make major undetected changes, rarely is anything audited

@yosh I am Israeli. I support all military actions necessary to allow our northern civilians back to their villages, which have been *routinely* firebombed from Lebanon since Oct 8.
It's amazing to us Israelis that such bombing of our civilians is ignored, but as soon as we act back, suddenly there's interest. How dare we respond

Sure, and I abhor the GOP's voting suppression as much as anyone.
But electronic voting and counting are *bad ideas*, and we should vote with paper ballots and count them by hand, in a filmed process.
Even if the GOP are the ones pushing it.
@GottaLaff In Israel we hand-count all votes in all ballots, and we have results in the very night of the election.
A much larger state can still have the same ratio of polling stations to population, so should have similar timings.

Just the pagers wounded and killed ~99% Hezbollah with very few civilians hurt. That's quite amazing precision. Many many wounded -- do you count them too?
The numbers of killed and wounded may be realistic - the question is how many of them are Hezbollah vs civilians.
@pgcd see the amazing precision with which Hezbollah fighters were killed with a very small number of civilians killed with them. Beirut is still standing, except the buildings which hosted Hezbollah's HQ.
