He waited by the phone, but no call came. His secret lair soon was covered with mote and dust.
After six months, Captain #Ego decided to retire from his "super hero" service.
"Humph! They don't know my value," he gritted his teeth.
Though the majority of public didn't care, some of his fanboys still try to keep him relevant.
They decided to organise annual Con in his name. A few people turned up, but it soon fizzled out.

The child blinked as it tried to walk past all the gold bars and nuggets around her.
Her tear-streaked eyes kept searching for her mother she had lost.
