@alternativeto I struggle with this. I don't use an ad blocker, because the ones who made the site should get paid. But yes, a lot of sites are F---ING OBNOXIOUS with the way they handle their ads. Typically, I just close the tab when I come across them. Not worth it.

That way, I don't "cheat" sites with acceptable ad practices out of their compensation, and I also don't get to view content "for free" (read: without seeing their ads) on obnoxious sites. I just say no thanks to them. Feels fair.

@marlinz Agreed. The key factor me is that I *enjoy* working in Emacs, so having my todos there make it a whole lot easier to get started doing them. And also, like you said, I can customize EVERYTHING about how they're handled.

ADHD meant constantly fighting for structure.

Every productivity tool forced me into its boxes, rigid folders, fixed categories.

Emacs Org Mode changed the game.

I don't adapt to the tool; the tool adapts to me. No filing anxiety, just tags and capture.

Finally, a system that works like my brain, so far

@marlinz Yeah, I've been working on my workflow for a at least a month on and off. Working on the workflow itself is fun too, and that makes using it more rewarding also.

@marlinz Oh man, sounds a lot like what I did. I built a dashboard which shows me my todos when I start Emacs. Each morning I have a look through them, and tag a few of them with "Focus". Those are the ones I want to get done that day.

Then, I have a different todo view which shows me ONLY the ones marked "Focus". That way it becomes way less overwhelming.

And the best part - the CRITICAL part - is that I enjoy this morning routine.

@amcooper I don't know, but I have a strong suspicion that RMS (the main guy behind Emacs) dislikes LLMs since he doesn't like proprietary software in general.
@mstempl Hmm, hideshow mode. I wasn't aware of that, I have to look into it, thanks for bringing it up. I've used outshine mode for Lisp, but I've never even thought of trying to find something similar for Python.
@bagder Inspirerande, faktiskt. En vacker dag ska jag försöka se om inte jag också kan bidra på något sätt... But that is not this day, som man brukar säga.

@zyd And here's an example of me catching Gemini being wrong, and it acknowledging that.
