I had decided to change the gender of a minor character and a misplaced pronoun made it all the way past me and my editor into the final printing.
I didn’t notice until I was recording the audiobook.
Minor issue at the end of the day, but oh my goodness do I feel silly about it. 😅
April snow brings May’s woe.
Chilly this morning but not too bad at only -6°C (43°F). It’s Friday, so that’s the biggest win.
Today’s agenda: work, visit my parents, disassociate until I forget that it’s snowing.

#scribesandmakers April 23. Have fairy tales influenced any of your creative work?
I guess maybe the rhyming Astro-Pixies from my kids’ plays have a fairy tale quality (and are space-fae, so there’s that).
Also a villain in Within the Penumbra falling into the witch in the woods kind of a trope that you get. (Eg. Hansel and Gretel)
I don’t see those as direct influences though.
#WordWeavers 24. Do your characters have any “tells” when they are lying?
Elderkin with a lot of Manifest heritage cannot 'speak false words', which includes written communication. And they will fulfill contracts to the letter. Some know when they are hearing/reading false words.
Some of them are good at giving false impressions... You kind of need to listen for what is not being said.
Worldfolk complain that Elderkin are twisty, Elderkin complain that Worldfolk are liars and oathbreakers.
Is it weird that I’m disappointed not see snow yet?
Maybe just because it feels like the weather advisories are letting me down.
Summer was a bit shorter than usual...
It begins.
