The Royal Function Rooms and associated Billabong Club in Rochester are set to close.

They've never been my favourite venues, but they play a crucial role in what remains of the Medway music scene and it will be sad to see them gone.

Medway has so few music spaces, and no others the same size as the Function Rooms. It isn't just the venues either. There are recording studios on site too, also at risk. So many cultural sites in our towns have been lost - this would be another massive blow.
