Independent scientist (geologist, physicist), gym junkie, mid-century style devotee :) Working to uncover the mysteries of Lord Howe Island’s geology, and the Permian-Triassic mass extinction.

The intention is to see what it tells us about the mantle in this region of the Pacific and, in turn, what that can tell us about mantle processes in terrestrial planets.

We published one paper in 2022 (here: https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/00288306.2022.2108068) and have just come back from another fieldwork session on the island with a bunch more samples!

And I want to thank the Australian Museum (#AustralianMuseum) for its support as well as #AustralianGeographic, #GeologicalSocietyUK, #LinneanSocietyNSW, & #LHIBoard.

Hi All! I've never been keen on social media (so many ads!) but I know this platform is a different beast so I'm looking forward to a better experience.

My background is in physics but I transitioned to geology afterwards with the aim of getting into planetary science. Life had it's twists and turns of course, but I'm slowly getting to where I'd like to be.

Currently my research focus is on the emplacement history of Lord Howe Island, a little volcanic remnant off the east coast of Australia.🌋
