I love it when you find one item which perfectly encapsulates something - a person, a family, a point in time... Like this note, written by my wife @Homelessclubkid
It is written on a ripped-out page from an article about BRAF- and MEK-inhibitors for BRAF-mutated melanoma, full of highlighted sentences, and the scribbles read: “Attention! Window open! Lethal danger!!! Guard the cat!!! (Our cat - not any cat.)”
This sign is a distillation our life right now. It makes me happy.
I think it’s time for a new, slightly updated #introduction again.
I’m a millennial who spent my 20s quoting Wainwright’s “I’m young and I’m strong but I feel old and tired” I still love that song, but I’m less young and considerably stronger now that I ever was in my 20s. I’m still very tired.
I lost my cats of 17 and 19 years and said I’d never make myself endure that pain again. Four months later me and my wife met Eliot the #DevonRex and our hearts melted.
I take pride in my work in #oncology. I’m also involved in efforts to educate healthcare personnel on #trans issues, and on #hiv prevention and care.
I tried to be cishet - it was a terrible performance. I tried to be neutotypical, but failed at that too.
I’ve been told me and my wife @Homelessclubkid are disgustingly cute and love each other way too much.
I write longer texts sometimes, and publish them on Medium, but most of my time is spent playing, reffing or coaching #RollerDerby
