This afternoon, when I opened the door to the garden shed, a pretty chonky huntsman spider was sitting on the other side of the door. And guys, I could swear that it literally did one of those over-the-top cartoon jumps before running away. I mean I could HEAR it landing on the tile floor. 😅

I just want to say I HATE the current trend of lamps where you're basically staring at an exposed light bulb with (or without) a wire cage around it, or translucent glass that doesn't diffuse shit. It might be my sensory issues or my susceptibility to migraines or both, but they make me want to stab my eyeballs.

Last night I went to Investigate a loud noise that seemed to be coming from outside. I flicked on the porch lights and was met with this violent spectacle. They were hissing but the camera didn't pick up the noise very well with the door closed, so I opened it. It's more clearly audible in the last clip but still not nearly as loud as it was irl.

This poor bee was in our pool, hanging on for dear life but unable to get out. After carefully fishing her out I ended up putting her on one of their favourite flowers. When I checked half an hour later she hadn't moved but she was alive, so I hope I wasn't too late.
