As the world turns towards AI generated journalism and the dead Internet theory slowly becoming a reality, I've been trying to acclimate myself to curated news by RSS feeds from reputable news sources. Don't rely on sites like Reddit for news and information, the very nature of Reddit and social media is the very definition of misinformation. If you're on Android, use an RSS app like feeder to build your curated news sources and support the journalism that deserves your time and money.

A change of pace and the first review, God of War 2018!

I want to change the pace a little bit and try to create more posts than just tech updates. The pace at which I’m posting isn’t necessarily the greatest and that’s a problem, I never wanted to slack on this as this is my personal recollection of accomplishments and progress. That being said, I want to share more posts and opinion pieces moving forwards, starting with something I’m very passionate about, video games. I’ve written about video games in the past, however I really want to start sharing my experiences and opinions on some of the games that have dropped over the years, starting with one that I recently completed, God of War 2018.

An update into the ether and a word about the machines

Here we are, an update. I’m not sure what to discuss this time; however, I thought I would at least give it a shot. I’m currently focusing on things that really make me happy at the moment, such as playing video games and music. I’ve set up that Jellyfin server and have it hosted on Vultr for the time being. It’s been a great experience setting that up and a good learning experience with Docker. I just don’t understand where to go next.

Been dipping my toes into the extraction shooter genre with #huntshowdown. There's a good reason this game is as popular as it is, the gameplay is great, the theme is unique, the objectives are well designed and the maps are beautiful. Seriously, anyone not playing the Marathon alpha should play this game, it's on #gamepass.

Well, idk what to say, this game looks fun for the most part, but wasn't what I was expecting. Hopefully we see some connections to the original series and they've hinted at some more gameplay we haven't seen yet, I have high hopes. Gonna see where this goes. In the meantime this gameplay best shows #marathon gameplay in action.

Into the clouds

The next step on my self-hosting journey is complete! I’ve successfully replicated my Jellyfin media server infrastructure in Vultr and have it running through a zero-trust Cloudflare tunnel for external internet access. This is a huge win for me. I had to force myself to really complete this. I’ve been so tired and worn out mentally lately that I’ve been slacking on my posts. I apologize for that, but this is a marathon, not a sprint, and I will accomplish something, even if it’s only this one task.
