The editors at Shadowplay have provided a good home for my memoir piece, "Penn's Landing," a story about a long wintertime walk fifty years ago that took a dramatic turn. I'm especially proud of this piece; I feel like I've really captured Warren's voice. I can even hear him talking when I read it.

Of course, that could because Warren's next to me, still talking.

Another poem published today! Kreatif Magazine has given my poem, "The Man You Feared," a home. You can read it here: https://kreatifzine.com/writers/writer-spring-2026/david-milley-usa/

In the printed version of Kreatif magazine, the editors have paired my little poem with a stunning set of photographs of Joe Dal Pra's "Anger," "Disgust," and "Bliss" installations, with in a full two-page spread. These images can be viewed on their own at https://kreatifzine.com/artists/artist-spring-2026/joe-dal-pra-usa/

Today's a two-fer day! This afternoon, the Spring 2026 issue of Remington Review went live. My poem about Maya Angelou is on page 6: https://heyzine.com/flip-book/0ce8696311.html#page/12

Next month will be twelve years since her passing. Seems to me we need her voice more than ever today, every day.

This morning, the Origami Poems Project published another set of my little poems about Wade Whimsies, "Aquarium Set," as a foldable microchap. You can download the .pdf file of this set for free here: https://www.origamipoems.com/images/Microchap/2025/2026/David_Milley_-_Aquarium_Set_2026_MarRev.pdf.

Here's how the folding works: https://www.origamipoems.com/who-we-are/folding-an-origami-book

When you print it out, you need to pay attention to the printer settings. The final result, though, is a neat little booklet.

Back in 2020, Hawk and Whippoorwill published my poem, "Deer Season," about Warren, hunters, and deer in the Jersey woods: https://www.penandanvil.com/hw/10/milley/

Then Covid-19 hit, and this magazine went into hibernation. Now they've re-awakened. This week, the printed version of Hawk and Whippoorwill, Winter 2020 finally arrived.

It's a beautiful journal. I'm pleased to see my poem in hard copy and treated so well.

Last evening, Issue 205 of RFD Magazine arrived. This issue's theme is "Heartbreak." It includes my poem "Losing Superboy," about what institutionalized homophobia can do to a child's gifts. A hard poem to write, but I'm glad I did.

RFD Magazine can be read online at: https://www.rfdmag.org/back-issues.php

"Losing Superboy" appears on page 60. Check it out!

Today's mail brought my contributor's copy of Issue 55 of Berkeley Poetry Review. This issue includes my poem, "The Good Neighbor," in which Warren converses with the woman who lived next door to us for a few years.

Currently, The Loch Raven Review site also hosts another of my poems, "Vertigo," which can be found at https://thelochravenreview.net/david-milley/

Also, the bound volume is mighty impressive! Behind the beautiful painting "Two Women" by Ruth Leavitt Fallon that graces the cover are nearly 300 pages of literature. It will make for several well-spent evenings of reading. It's available at Amazon.
