Walking through a museum dedicated to a 19th century writer, and I've come to realise - I resent this stuff. A rich person "defying convention" by becoming a writer and being slightly poorer but still able to get by because they have equally rich friends to mooch off of. What a trailblazer. How romantic.

If I've realised one thing studying literature, it's a fucking rich people's game. It got better, but it is still very, very noticeable, esp in "respectable" literature.
