I genuinely love my job. Can't really see myself doing anything else. Love the fact that I get to help people.
What gets to me, though, is the fact that I have front-row seats to the "How Many Holes In Our Care System Can People Fall Through" show. There are so, so many ways for people to slip through the cracks. And the results range from unpleasant to catastrophic and inhumane. Like that I can help some, hate that people have to exist like that in the first place.
I renew my objection to this daylight savings nonsense.
Using what little spare time and energy I have between work and [gestures vaguely at world] to start an informal, open group for historical fencing here in town. And wouldn't you know, it seems like it's actually taking off!
Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go hyperventilate into a bag.
That said - fuck yeah, more women's hockey!
I really like the fact that #PWHL games are available in full for free in Europe. But also watching them has made me realise: holy shit, US sports events are SO FULL OF ADS! I mean, sure, they don't turn their players' jerseys into walking advertising columns as we do over here, but they sure use every stoppage in play for yet. another. ad roll.
If you ever feel like you're a bit thick for not getting something right away, remember that in 2026 there are still people getting paid to write articles in national news agencies asking the question "are oil companies getting rich off inflated prices?!"
Gods, looking for flats is depressing as fuck.
Just found out that Carpenter Brut had a gig nearby and I didn't even know about it. Kicking myself.
