Holy smokes! @pluralistic is really good at cutting through the bullshit and explaining things very simply. He's surfaced something today that I've always suspected, but never quite been able to put my finger on.

97% of the finance sector is useless gambling and creates nothing of value. It's what got us the housing bubble in 2008 and what's inflating the current AI bubble.
