I'm certainly not advocating for a reversal in the progress that's been achieved around equal rights. There's clearly still a lot of work to do.

However, I do strongly oppose the situation we have now where couples are financially obligated to spend their waking lives away from each other and their homes just to have somewhere nice to sleep.

This one crept in during my childhood, and I'm not sure anyone spotted it.

This outdated chart summarises the scale of the work ahead of us. The conversation on climate change shifted from 'mitigation' to 'adaptation' about 10 years ago. As a species we are the student up drinking past midnight on the day a report is due.
