You know how in the early 1900s, radium was discovered and people started putting it into a bunch of random products that were marketed as having any number of magical or healing properties because "ooooo cool it glows" and because radioactivity was such a new concept that no one understood the danger? Or how asbestos was used in like, everything for a while?

This is what generative AI is like, but for the service economy. Future generations are going to treat this shit like toxic waste.

I often hear Americans & rich brits justify buying oversized, polluting vehicles by claiming they need them because they live in the "countryside".

I call bullshit, Ladies and Gentlemen, allow me to introduce, the Citroen C15⬇

"i'm mad at firefox, so instead i'm going to give google incrementally more power over the web"

ok. consider: not doing that

My band, Paul Armer & The Dawn Chorus, released an EP last month - I'm very proud of it, I can say with some conviction that if you like acoustic music, there's a good chance you're going to like it!

Check it out on Bandcamp - https://paularmerandthedawnchorus.bandcamp.com/album/heartaches-and-mistakes

Also on streaming services, though we aren't likely to make any money from that 😅

We need to normalize declaring software as finished. Not everything needs continuous updates to function. In fact, a minority of software needs this. Most software works as it is written. The code does not run out of date. I want more projects that are actually just finished, without the need to be continuously mutated and complexified ad infinitum.

Well, shit. I'm in a bit of a bind. Life has not been kind since dad's passing, and I'm beyond broke.

And just to give the knife a good twist I'm being made homeless. I have to find a new place to live.
If you can *spare* literally anything, please help. I don't want to end up on the streets.

Oh, so cross-document CSS view transitions are becoming a thing now? Cool! I wish I knew how to get traction when I had basically the same idea 10 years ago (with working prototype): https://github.com/cwiiis/gaia-navigator

I'm sure the new standard has been better thought-through than what I could achieve alone, mind. I just hope it can be done strictly with CSS and no JS like the name implies, that would be nice.

"Which is your favorite/definitive version of the original Prince of Persia?"

💾As promised-- after 35 years, here's a proper blog post with my thoughts, and the story behind Prince of Persia's multiple 1990s ports.

I'm going to finish it, but honestly, Hollow Knight Silksong is kinda bullshit. Every boss has a pretty long sequence that's impossible to witness first time without dying and they're all usually a couple of minutes of difficult platforming away from the nearest checkpoint. It isn't fun.
This kind of thing would put me off my dinner…
