CommonsDB: A Foundation for Transparent Digital Rights Information

Funded by the European Commission, the CommonsDB initiative is building a prototype registry of Public Domain and openly licensed works.

CommonsDB

📢 Just launched: CommonsDB - a new initiative to build a prototype registry of public domain and open-licensed works.

This project originated from our 2021 suggestion on a white paper and is now funded by the European Commission.

We're working with committed partners from Liccium, @europeana Wikimedia Sverige, and the Institute for Information Law (IViR) to create public infrastructure for verifying the rights status of digital content.
