Historic & contemporary archaeologist, PhD student in Canada: the narrowed focus is on Brother XII & Aquarian Foundation, the bigger picture focus looks at pseudoarchaeology and how historic and contemporary far-right conspiritual groups/individuals use pseudoarchaeology, plus the archaeology of conspiritual landscapes.

Tl;dr = I have too much cursed knowledge about Atlantis.

And the second bit of news is that I've got a book chapter coming out in July! Where I talk about common ancient technologically advanced civilization (ATAC) pseudoarch narratives and why the far-right loves them. Featuring case studies from two extreme far-right guys who love G. Hancock's work in particular. Chapter is in this excellent edited collection:

Conspiracy Theories and Extremism in New Times

This anthology outlines a cadre of alt-right groups, conspiracy theories, and other forms of stigmatized knowledge threatening our society and presents a compelling case for the continued relevanc...

Finally got back into my account 🙌 And I've got a couple of cool (imo) things to share:

The first is that I recently went surveying and found an Aquarian Foundation cabin at one of their settlements! Rumoured to be Brother XII's cabin, but I'll have to do a bit more work (I've got lidar and excavation plans 👀) to confirm whether it was his or another member's cabin. It was hard to spot at first, hidden among the moss and with two trees growing out of it, perfect for some dendrochronology!

Just a quick update here to say that I am also over there! I also have a two spare invite codes, so if any mutuals have been interested in setting up on Bluesky, send me a message!

(Based on my own experiences so far, Bluesky and Mastodon are quite different from one another, each with their own pros/cons)

If you're a listener of the QAnonAnonymous podcast (or just looking for an interesting podcast to listen to), their newest episode is about the group that I happen to know a little bit about 😉 - Brother XII and the Aquarian Foundation! I'm grateful to have been invited for a little interview (I promise I'm not spamming you with too much cursed B12 knowledge), which you can catch at the end of the episode! https://m.soundcloud.com/qanonanonymous/episode-235-brother-xii

Taking a break between tasks and having some fun playing around with making 3D map images as I draft out a poster abstract for SHA2024. Helps make the 3 "Portals" of the Home of Truth stand out a little more as I think about the property's spatial organization 🧐

New book mail arrived late today! It's already off to a great start with an important critical discussion about Ward/Voas (2011), and I'm really looking forward to reading through more of this!
A moody ride to the island last night (several folks on the ferry asking each other if they were "going to the ball field tomorrow," what's happening at the ball field?!) and misty forests on the island today has made it the perfect day to put on a spooky playlist and dive into one of the new horror books I recently picked up 👀
Well, I found the laz files for the HoT area and got them fixed up into a handy little image, so I guess I have something to work with for my poster thoughts 🤔🤔

Still thinking on ideas for the SHA conference in January, and I think I'm close to settling on using a poster for a fun side project idea I've had in mind for a while. A little landscape #archaeology compare/contrast of the Aquarian Foundation properties to the Home of Truth property in Utah. It would be especially interesting if I can find LiDAR data for Utah 🤔

(Also Ogden called her property sections "Portals" and "portals" is literally mentioned in the conference theme, so...)

Book mail arrived today! A quick first skim but I've already found it to be super informative, with lots that I can cite in the pseudoarch paper I'm wrapping up right now 👀
