✈️ Introducing “simmer”
I wanted to do native iOS dev on my Mac mini at home from a plane but still SEE and INTERACT with my app
So I built this while on the plane 😅
• iOS + Android sims in your browser
• Built-in terminal access
• Designed for high latency workflows
https://github.com/joshdholtz/simmer
The main thing I cared about was making simulators feel OKAY remotely 😅
I love being in a terminal and working from iPad and… now I feel like I have a decent end-to-end workflow for it 🤷♂️
I’m still deciding which route I take but this is an interesting read
Giftlist 2.4 is out.
Multiple people per list is finally here.
Christmas planning just got easier. Track gifts and spending for everyone without managing separate lists.
This also lays the groundwork for what's next.
Grab it on the App Store.
Running a Plex server is getting harder to justify. I’m spending more and more time troubleshooting before I even hit the usual Plex app headaches.
Meanwhile, Jellyfin keeps improving and it’s getting close to earning family approval.
I’m adding sharing to one of my apps. I initially wanted to keep everything in iCloud, but the Share Sheet UX feels clunky.
I’m considering a third‑party backend instead—any solid recommendations, or is it worth sticking with iCloud and working around it? #buildinpublic #iosdev
Just shipped Countdown v1.1.
Added:
→ event notes
→ repeat events
Small additions that make it way more useful for everyday tracking.
