If you look at the response to that request, it says, "This file connects the DuckDuckGo Chrome Extension to the new tab page in Chrome so we can anonymously give users the option to show how many tracking attempts DuckDuckGo blocks on the new tab page." So they're tracking you so that they can show how many trackers they block?
Come on, Google. You can't even blame your AI for this.
