My answer was that my sleep cycle is really messed up, so sleeping in the morning makes me happy lol (that and Vegemite pancakes).

I've had Nix as my main mascot for well over 2 years now but I don't think I've ever really talked about the story attached to xim before. Nix lives in and is a curator for a place they call The Nexus - a dimension that acts as a kind of gateway between different universes. The Nexus takes to form of an enormous library, though it's exact layout is constantly shifting and changing in ways Nix and the other curator - a kobold named Kaldas, don't quite understand. The job of the curators is to not only act as caretakers for the stories already found here, but to travel into different universes through portals located throughout the Nexus and record the stories taking place within them to add to the collection. Kaldas had been doing this for an immeasurable amount of time, but was beginning to find the task overwhelming to do alone, so he employed Nix to lighten the load. Today, Kaldas mostly stays in the library, tending to the existing collection, maintaining the enchantments on the books and helping to guide individuals who end up in the nexus by accident back to their own universe. Nix on the other hand is in charge of going out and finding new stories and recording them. In this image, Kaldas and Nix are watching xis first addition to the Nexus's catalogue.

This was my first attempt to combine a 3D rendered background with a full 2D drawing and I quite like how it turned out! I might also post some renders of just the background too later. Environment modeling was never really my strong suit but I really like how it turned out too.
