If you haven't read "Careless People, A story of where I used to work" by Sarah Wynn-Williams yet, I recommend that you do. She gives a truly eye-opening (and jaw dropping) account of Facebook (now Meta) from the inside.

It is clear why Zuckerberg trying to block the publication of this book...

Bill Maher Doth Protest Too Much, Methinks

I read Larry David’s satire piece for the Times. It was very funny of course. It should be noted I am a huge, huge fan of Larry David. Bill Maher, not so much.

The fact he really seems to have gotten his knickers in a twist over this exchange seems to me a sign his conscience is a bit discomfited…but OK, keep digging that hole for yourself.

When the moment came, Harvard didn’t hedge or flinch—it stood up. A reminder that integrity isn’t complicated, it’s just rare.
Walz: If you say you love #freedom but you don't believe freedom is for everybody, then the thing you love is not freedom, it is #privilege.

I never would have read *Careless People*, Sarah Wynn-Williams's tell-all memoir about her years running global policy for Facebook, but then Meta's lawyer tried to get the book suppressed and secured an injunction to prevent her from promoting it:

Elon Musk’s robotaxi fantasy is starting to unravel

Tesla CEO Elon Musk predicted there will be “millions” of driverless cars on the road next year. But past broken promises and tech limitations suggest otherwise.

Goats milked, live TV interview for CTV Calgary done, time to drink some tea. Wow.

It was extra surreal today listening to the news segments about Pope Francis's death right before I got interviewed about possible detection of molecules associated with life on an exoplanet.

I am happy I was able to get in a jab at the end about how NASA getting totally slashed by the US government makes it harder for scientists worldwide to find out if this tentative detection is actually aliens or not.

I love these guys - The Know Rogan Experience. Diving into Joe Rogan podcast episodes and debunking all his and his guests nonsense. This one on Dr. Suzanne Humphries and vaccine scepticism is great https://youtu.be/32mPj6DNz-Y

Well played Starmer - Rolled over like a puppy. On the plus side, giant tech companies pay fuck all tax, so a lower rate of fuck all is still fuck all. Imagine cutting disability benefits at the same time as giving the most profitable companies that ever existed tax breaks - what a time to be alive
