Just this guy. Communications person, ex-IT journalist, interests include biology, running - love parkrun -, cycling, the weirdness that is SharePoint, usability. Teasing my daughters. Not a bad cook.
@ImprobableIsland You down at themoment? Can't seem to connect and I am bereft.
@Migueldeicaza Probably important to point out that the interim judgement tells Israel to "prevent" acts of genocide - not stop them. It did not rule on whether genocide is occuring.

Bought myself a rather nice #Decathlon Triban Gravel 520, but the suggested front mudguard gave me problems with toe overlap. Can anyone suggest front mudguard that would fit the bike, but but which wouldn't hit my toes when turning?

#Cycling #Bicycle #Bike

@mike Just a bit of feedback on the podcast - really interesting, but strange opening. Could I suggest you ditch the strange anonymous introductory voice and do the intro yourself.

Also - perhaps introduce your guests with a sentence or two. Sorry, I didn't know who Mike Masnick is, or what the mysterious paper was that you suddenly started talking about. Tl;dr - introduce the topic and your guest :)

Well, that's fun. Just had a Twitter account taken down for promoting violence. The offending tweet - in response to a company announcing that it was removing access to 3rd part automations was "You've shot yourself in the foot there". Not exactly the most incendiary message, I think :)
@Gargron I would, but it clashes with League of Legends' 'Worlds
@Eka_FOOF_A @lauren @mighty_orbot Well yes - which is why I use a long alphanumeric passcode on my phone, coupled with FaceID so I hardly ever need to type it.
@lauren @mighty_orbot So maybe the message should be 'Don't use Google's passkey system unless you have a good secure PIN on your phone'? Rather that 'Google's system is irrevocably flawed'

@amyworrall Yes, clearly the implication is "the only way we can check available storage is to access your photos".

I just wanted to check if there was an 'official' for an app to do that other than using photos'.

It's not at all clear why you need precise location to search for networks - can you think why that might be true? Thanks for your help!

Could a #iOSDev sanity-check this for me?

LG's "ThinQ" app used to set my washing machine requests stupid amounts of data. On questioning this, LG claims:

"Each permission is needed to ensure the app functions properly. Make & Manage phone calls is needed to determine your country using USIM info. Access to photos, media, & files allows the app to determine your device’s storage space. Location is only used to search for networks when connecting your product over Wi-F".

Sounds Bullshit?
