Went scouting some locations for upcoming tours in May and saw Western Trilliums (Trillium ovatum) in bloom. Deciduous trees and bushes are turning green with new leaves. So lovely at the moment on Vancouver Island.

Roosevelt elk (Cervus elaphus roosevelti), also known as wapiti, one of the largest mammals on Vancouver Island. I photographed it in the fall. He was looking at its harem. Very protective.

Those wapitis are wild, not habituated to people, so it takes time and patience to locate them and then photograph them while keeping a respectful distance.
