Carbonate mylonite in serpentinites of the Sanbagawa metamorphic belt, Japan

The thin section scan looks wild enough already

Working at the microscope today! You might be able to witness soon my very first Japanese microphotographs!!
Santa this year brought me a new batch of #Elba #thinsection (s) which included my first 5 thinnies of the #sanbagawa rocks! I am so happy 😍 😍 😍 🎄 🎆 🎇 Happy 2023 everybody! #geology #academia #happynewyear

Something's wrong with this world.

Emails from DOAJ Tektonika are flagged as spam, while emails from MDPI predatory special issues are flagged as legit 🤔

#mdpi #tektonika #academia #journal #doaj #openaccess

Do these #MDPI editors even care to know what my research is actually about? 🙄

Still don't understand why angry MDPI editors always angrily reply to my accuses of being another predatory publisher, if that's their editorial policy for *recruiting* authors for special issues 🙄

Folded meta-sedimentary rocks along SR416 in eastern Tennessee, south of Sevierville. It's great to be back in the S. Appalachians!!

#Introduction

I haven't done this before, but I feel the time has come.

I am also a #Twitter refugee and, before that, someone that has grew tired of the tiktokization of social networks.

If you like #geology #science and #fieldwork I will use mastodon to post all my geoscience-related photos, fresh from the field and the microscope!

No big words or complicated descriptions, as I will use mastodon mostly to relax and take a breath.

Sorry for the long post, here's a free #rock !

Mastodon is my new twitter! Please tolerate my occasional geology-related posts, like this talc mylonite that I share to celebrate my first invited talk (invited talc 😂 )
