Has anyone played around with Firefox's new sidebar? You can get a very minimal interface by moving the tabs over there and hiding the bookmark bar. I'm still getting used to losing 2/3 of the bars from the top of the window but it looks sleek.
It's the last livestream of the year and we have a wild list of artists for this one. https://www.twitch.tv/criticalcomposer

Youtube just pushed out a new tab in Youtube Studio that shows you what you should be copying. They call it the "Inspiration" tab and it's now the first tab in a creator's "Channel Content" page.

There's a list of popular topics for you to piggyback on as well as a text box to ask an AI for help on what kind of video to make next. Clicking on any of the topics returns an outline of a script for a video about that topic.

Creativity is dying and Youtube is the one swinging the axe.

It's livestream time again! I only recognize two of today's bands but that opens up a lot of opportunities to be surprised :)

Picked up a 7 string guitar on sale and started messing around with amp sims. I think I'm gonna have a blast exploring metal sounds and learning how to mix them into my writing style.
Finished up the "main" run of the '87 TMNT show yesterday and started the (fan named) "Red Sky Seasons" which makes up the final 24 episodes. I guess the show was being ignored thanks to grittier cartoons having come out, such as Batman TAS, so they switched to a darker color palette, moodier shading, and a constant red sky. The writing was also more serious and the whole thing feels like a prototype for the 2003 4Kids run of TMNT.

More progress on the Obsidian Media Database.

I've begun work on my collection pages, a note that keeps track of what media I've seen/played/heard from a specific group. In the picture is my first draft of a collection page, this one for Star Wars visual media. Each sub-collection is a drop down that exposes the items themselves and shows whether I've seen it or not.

I'm still learning how to pretty up the interface but all of the information is present and easily read.

My Obsidian.md project is going well. I hit my API call limit yesterday while adding my Watched Movies list so I decided to spruce up the Media Overview page.

I fixed the CSS on the buttons at the top, centering them within their columns and removing the borders. I added a list of things I want to watch next and gave both lists a framing and better visible title. Eventually I want to make these rows of cards like how Netflix does category shelves but this works for now.

I'll be listening to my first full Beatles album today; it'll be Abbey Road. I'm kind of nervous about it but excited to see what all the hubbub is about. I'll have my full 3+ hour listen-through, thoughts, and breakdown posted on Saturday.

Watched Borderlands today. It's not the 0% that Rotten Tomatoes has it rated as but it isn't much higher. I think I'd give it a 4/10. It was run of the mill 6/10 action film until the third act which rushed an already quick pace, leaving out core information and never giving the audience to care about any of the characters, conflicts, or stakes. The "chosen one" savior narrative is the final nail in the coffin to me. It's not unwatchable and can be a good time if you set your expectations low.
