Well, after my bitching, the engine was cleaned up yesterday and the engineer spent today on it. The fire was caused by a short across the loom. Fortunately I was so quick catching it, no damage to the engine or the engine bay. Needs a new alternator, loom, air filter, belts and nothing else. Should be on the water by the end of June

Massively frustrated at the lack of progress with getting Good Mood sorted out after the fire. It's been three weeks so far and I've got nothing to show for it, except engine with a dusting of fire extinguisher powder. Anyone know a good marine mechanic in North Wales? #sailing
