@sharlatan There is no version release that requires Python 3.12.
Blender follows the VFX Platform guidelines, which in 2024 and 2025 required Python 3.11, so all Blender releases published during that period (4.1, 4.2, 4.3, 4.4, 4.5, 5.0) use Python 3.11.
Blender 5.1, the latest release that came out earlier this week, uses Python 3.13.
Everyone is talking about 5.1, but both Blender LTS just got better! 🚀
🔶 Blender 4.5.8 LTS fixes 13 issues present in the previous version.
🔹 Blender 4.2.19 LTS fixes 2 issues.
As usual, updating is highly recommended.
