@dzamie I'd think they'd be looking at both. If they had high retention but low click through then they might think the need to adjust their pitch to better appeal to that creator's audience. If retention is low I think they'd prefer a creator that had higher numbers.

But if on average if all creators retention went down equally like in the scenario I stated with then your right, it shouldn't hurt because they'd only be looking at a difference in click through.

@chirpbirb I think it's certain at scale it would mean baked in advertisements are less lucrative. I don't think it would cause significant harm but imagine if in a year SponsorBlock gets used by 30% of viewers. Say another 20% of viewers skip manually. Retention graphs show only 50% of audiences watches the sponsor segment. Wouldn't it make sense that at least on average payouts would be 50% as much?

I would also expect that sponsors would as for examples of retention graphs of your previous sponsored videos when negotiating a price since the % of people that skip the ad spot would vary greatly by audience.
