An old dev, now architect specialising in PowerPlatform its apps and governance.
Iot and home automation fan and Archer, you know, firing sticks with bigger stick.
@mekkaokereke considering they made him daily briefings in crayon, maybe they didn't tell him 😄

Today I was looking at roles & security in a solution, the dev showed me the role but couldn't see any of the details on edit

No sys customise role

I thought that the role in solution would be a role template, but no it's the actual role in dev. So devs can't make roles

Then of course teams, have to be in the env & mapped to role on creation. No template for teams in solution & prompt for config on install either.

Honestly this power platform. I miss proper languages & proper installations

I'm now installing November 2022 of coe toolkit, after doing Jan March Jun August.

Weird warnings but Jenefer said they had that too and was fine.

Finish off tomorrow and see if it all still works!!

@MartinHatch Lol😆

Arrgh!.
So COE Toolkit upgrade, failed, I had to then undo a solution layer from our solutions, cos of bad coding and not proper use of Conn Refs

Now the latest version is there, so tried re-intall, which it said nope something about managed solutions needed (but it was) which was a red herring cos I later saw both solutions.

Ran the Apply upgrade, bang, tried to run again, bang with "Cannot start another uninstall" so front end failure, but backend was still applying upgrade.

Finaly in

@is_googling yes different colours (assignable), I use browser profiles with colours for diff users, so would love to have colours for envs to, maybe rag for prod uat dev

I wish there was a change in UI when switching environments, like did I move or am I still in the same one?

#PowerPlatform #PowerApps #msft #ui

@is_googling thanks for this, will take a look, I will be trying to upgrade it all in 3 month steps to jan23 today and likely tomorrow.

@is_googling having a mare of a time with mine dec21 - Jan 22 warnings, Jan - Mar 22 failures due to custom solutions and dependancies.
Still battling that one. I think one of the devs is using the wrong conn refs perhaps. Gonna have to fix that first.

Thing is I already did a practice run with a dev env but they are not same, should be, but just ain't.

Audit log components conn refs broken can't seem to fix the triggers. Arrrghhhh.

I have had to spend a very long time, resetting password, regenerating 2fa backup codes, changing logins.

All because I wrongly believed #LastPass was a good service.

Not only did LP have several breaches as, I discover they had proprietary algos (never a good thing), they didn't encrypt everything, so urls and notes etc all exposed. All of this should have been protected.

So now that's all done I have sacked them off cancelled the payment, deleted them everywhere.

If you use them change now
