I had to do a decent amount of searching to figure out that the one I remember most was The Discrete Charm of the Bourgeoisie. (I had to start with googling “hat with foot” because for some reason I remember this as a foot, not lips.)
My Leatherman Free P2 is definitely the best tool I own for fidgeting but this new utility knife/scraper is a close second.
I've somehow become massively overdrawn in Amazon Reward Points. I saw this and all my thankfully fairly dormant poverty/poor money management neural pathways fired right back up. “Oh god, what did I do, how much is this going to cost me?”
I guess I've had Finder hiding hidden directories since I got this new laptop maybe a year ago, just never had reason to have switched that setting until recently.
Then a few days ago I was going through all the music on my NAS that I ripped from CDs years ago, and I guess this band made a misjudgement for the digital age when naming their band.
Saw these requests in logs on my local dev server and had a nice little freakout. (Of course, it turns out the robot and I had just discovered a few vulnerabilities and had written tests verifying them before fixing them.) But truly a few moments of "what the hell do I do with this laptop right now”.
Now Claude is becoming simultaneously obsequious and self-hating. I've never empathized more with the robot:
