A new walking and cycling bridge in ’s-Hertogenbosch opened in April—but closed again after just over a week due to unexpected vibrations.

In my latest post and video I take a closer look at the bridge, its history, and what happens next.

A new bridge for ’s-Hertogenbosch — But Not Quite Yet

On 17 April 2026, a new bridge was opened in ’s-Hertogenbosch. Unfortunately, it remained open for just over a week. The bridge had to be closed again after it turned out to vibrate too much. As a …

Does the weather really make a difference?
A snowy January morning and a mild April one — all cyclists, same place in Utrecht.

Utrecht Morning Rush Hour

This hasn’t happened since October 2025, but April once again has five Wednesdays — which means an extra post. The last true “fifth Wednesday” post dates back to July 2025, when I revisited the Von…

I recently rode the nearly finished F270 between Helmond and Eindhoven — a route my family once cycled daily to work in the 1950s.
This route is finally taking shape as a continuous cycle route.
New Post with Ride Video.

Over 30 Years in the Making: The Continuous Cycle Route from Helmond to Eindhoven

The continuous cycle route between Helmond and Eindhoven — the F270 — is nearly complete. I recently cycled and filmed the route as it is now. This route feels very close to home in more than one w…

I always like showing a real ride: one where I go from A to B for a reason. This time I filmed a ride to a hospital in Utrecht last February—a straightforward trip, quite typical for the Netherlands. Come along for the relaxing journey.

A Train-and-Bike Trip to the Hospital in Utrecht

It’s time to show you a new ride, and I always enjoy showing a real ride: one where I actually go from A to B for a reason. This time I had an appointment at a hospital that I had not visited very …

New Short on YouTube!
A replacement bridge for cycling and walking was put in place last week in ’s-Hertogenbosch (Netherlands). It arrived by road: transporting the 43 m-long deck required temporary road closures and the removal of traffic signs and signals.

A long-awaited bicycle parking garage has opened in 's-Hertogenbosch, last Monday.
Space for 1,000 bicycles in the former hospital area, with two-tier racks, a gentle ramp and even a bicycle lift.
New Post and video with a look inside.

Antwerp’s central station is often called one of Europe’s most beautiful railway stations. But what about parking your bicycle there? In this one-minute short, you even see me for a change, walking a bicycle down the ramp and parking it inside the station.

I cycled a street that lies in two countries — German cycle paths on one side, Dutch on the other. A border once marked by barbed wire is now deliberately invisible. A new post, with two videos.

One Street, Two Countries: Cycling the Nieuwstraat/Neustraße

This post is especially for those who are intrigued by unusual borders. I cycled up and down a single street that lies in two countries: Germany and the Netherlands. The road existed long before th…

What is ordinary in the Netherlands continues to fascinate elsewhere.
I filmed fifteen minutes of everyday cycling near Utrecht Central Station, 4:30 pm in February.

Utrecht at 4:30 pm: 15 Minutes of Everyday Cycling

In the second half of February, you begin to notice the days growing longer. The evening rush hour no longer unfolds entirely in the dark. That change in light felt like the right moment to return …
