This from @GottaLaff suggests a radically simple resistance / sabotage approach for anyone working inside the US federal government right now:
Just don’t and say you did.
BS order from the fash? Ignore it. Say it’s done and do nothing. Insist it’s done and still do nothing. Argue angrily that it’s done and do nothing.
They don’t even know what they’re asking. They’ll change their mind at the drop of a hat. They’ll swear they never even asked for it. So just don’t do it. Don’t take their requests seriously. Don’t imagine their rules apply. Do nothing and make them have to scramble to prove you didn’t do it. https://mstdn.social/@GottaLaff/114105716538536534

*blink* "NEW: #Trump abruptly walks back his directive to fire thousands of federal employees across agencies. Not clear what this means for the thousands of people he already haphazardly fired. Julie Wilson, general counsel of the National Treasury Employees Union, tells HuffPost that Trump's probationary firings are “indisputably a reorganization attempt” and that the administration has failed to follow proper procedures, including giving workers notice" https://www.huffpost.com/entry/trump-reverses-directive-fire-federal-employees_n_67c65042e4b044c440ed75bd?hid
