Because of how much I admire her, I have long wanted to make a quilt that honors Telfair, her quilts and her role in the Civil Rights movement
I wanted it to build on her original pattern, but with a modernized design and message, because I also wanted it to recognize the work of women like Andrea St. Julian (a #SanDiego choice voting advocate), LaTosha Brown (from Black Voters Matters) and others still fighting for voting rights today
