Given Twitter's latest nonsense (banning Mastodon and other social media links, see attached photo). I think it's worth pointing out how we got here.

Main Stream Media made Twitter. Journalists liked it and started posting there and then the media organizations started including Twitter handles in their media.

MSM can make another platform and unmake Twitter. Stop posting on Twitter. Stop showing Twitter handles. Start showing Mastodon @user@instance style links.

Twitter wasn't even that big of a driver of views as compared to Facebook.

Elmo picked a fight with people that buy ink by the barrel. All they have to do is remove the earned media that Twitter has been getting for free and direct it elsewhere.
