First flying duck (Caleana major - large duck orchid) of the spring near Genoa, East Gippsland, VIC. Only a few scattered plants out in flower here but quite a few more of these very distinctive orchids in bud nearby - despite the recent dry conditions.

Dessert was homemade roasted ellu+kaladai power (leftover from andhra kathirikkai prep) mixed with sugar - tried making urdundai but it was too dry.
Not the worst lunch I've had by a long shot.
And the kathirikai has turned out okay too. I knew not to make the same mistakes again and it would've been really good except the methi was leftover from last time and was on the verge of going rotten (should maybe have not used it lol).
So method good, ingredients not fresh enough this time.
Hand got well enough to cook so I'm reattempting Venkatesh Bhat's andhra kathirikkai. But since that's going to take longer, lunch is pazhaiya soru and even more pazhaiya eeral that I forgot I had leftover from 2 weeks ago.
Not quite the traditional mutton but it'll do.
