I am not sure if this a unpopular opinion but videos and podcasts are very inefficient way to do research.
Written text lets me skim and gather relevant info quickly but a majority of videos and podcasts have so much fluff.
For entertainment, they are great and some are good to stimulate free thinking but not for research.

I occasionally play songs from 80s and expect my kids to relate.
I just had a thought that this is same as someone telling me in the 80s to listen to songs from the 40s 🤯
@Popehat Great write up on the case. Though folks like to pretend that it is all black and white, this is a reminder that even First Amendment rights are in a gray area and actively harm some people.
Of course, not a case against 1A by any means but a reminder that we all should be cognizant of the impacts.

@michael_nielsen For things like physics and math it is hard but for a lot of other stuff, this is absolutely true and how corporations get away with a lot of bad stuff.
@duncan_lithgow smaller player but I have heard it mentioned. Open source is good and more folks that can code review, the better it will be.
Like other products, most folks would go with one hosted by them (I think on Azure). Once again, the security practices there is important.

Lastpass breach is egregious because password managers are a essential tool in end user security.
When a company that users put such trust is careless with their data (as well explained by many others reg lastpass), the big issue is a loss of trust in password managers and that is very unfortunate.
Hope this serves as a cautionary tale for 1Password and other companies to take a very close look at their entire stack and keep doing it
