600 confirmed DWP-related suicides in just three years. Goodness only knows how many attempted suicides that implies, with the load on the NHS that each of those adds. Not to mention the stress and unhappiness of many others.

Truly a scandal! If we wanted vulnerable people persecuted, we wouldn’t have DWP. The department exists, but it is clearly totally failing in its intended purpose. DWP has completely forgotten that it is there to help people, not to persecute them.

I am tempted to speculate that (a) the English government know very little or (b) they care even less or even (c) some politicians across parties see where their next pay check are coming from. All three are possible as well.
