If anyone is hiring or knows of someone who is hiring remotely in the UK or locally in NI for an astrophysics PhD who is cracking with Python, knows a bit of SQL and cloud computing, is experienced in both data analysis and software development, and is ALSO uncannily quick to learn new things, then hit me up.

ETA: Just to be clear: I'm not looking for astrophysics jobs. My experience in astro was largely in big data wrangling and software dev so that's what I'm after now!

Of course, the key difference between the Golf War and the Vietnam war is that Trump had an effective plan to get out of the Vietnam war.

Given where Trump is spending the most time, maybe we should call it the golf war?

The Nobel Peace Prize has gone to some less-than-deserving recipients over the years (understatement). But in honour of St Patrick's Day, here's some homework for you on two recipients who did, in fact, deserve the prize.

You can read the entirety of the Good Friday Agreement online. For such an incredibly important document, it isn't that long.

I remember The Troubles from NZ TV news in the 60s onwards. So I remember who Bernadette Devlin was and remember a broadcast about the IRA having reformed that showed them in training. And a lot of what followed over the years. We only had one TV channel up until the mid 70s and so our overseas news was mostly American or British! So at 6pm it was either watch the news or watch nothing! Luckily I liked watching the news.
Remember those low fuel prices of yesteryear?
Well, all those $3k Nissan Leaf drivers you see this morning be like "But I pay less than that for my fuel 𝘵𝘰𝘥𝘢𝘺"
That can be you, too.
Grab yourself a cheap & cheerful Nissan Leaf. There are still a handful available for good prices, but kiwis are snapping them up FAST.
In fact, they often cost less than a decent ebike and still do a solid 70-100 km per charge. Heck, even if you get a small loan for one, the weekly repayments are often much less than you spend in petrol!
Why not make this your call to action?

Just checked out a couple of well known EV car yards and holy spuds their inventory is GONE.
One dealership has SEVEN electric cars left. That's literally all they have left to offer. I've never seen that before in my life.
