Israel has established a pattern of murdering journalists then mounting fake news operations to smear them as "terrorists".
Last year they bombed the Palestinian journalist Anas al-Sharif and his colleagues, then shared fake Telegram messages as "evidence" that al-Sharif was a terrorist:

@blogdiva The Brits dominated early MTV, because they had videos for the content starved station. The constant rotation on MTV put them on the billboard hot 100. The US audience would not have existed for so many of those fun bands if not for that little cable channel.
