Peoples! Vraagje.

Ik heb het kei-erg naar mijn zin bij vrijwilligerswerk. Nu gebruikt een collega heel vaak "hey, meid"/"thanks, meid" etc. Ons project van de dag/week/maand is om deze 'meid' te vervangen met iets (gender)neutralers. Maar niks klinkt passend.

'Bro' is te grof (en niet neutraal), 'mattie' klinkt alsof we 16 zijn, 'vriend' is raar..

Ik dacht aan 'jong', op z'n Bosch. "Ja jong, is goed jong, lekker gewerkt jong.."

My love made us maqluba. Rice cooked in stock, loads of spices, tomato, aubergine, broccoli, pine nuts, yoghurt mint sauce. Forgot to take a pic, but this was amazing.

(Could have easily been vegan, if we had not forgotten to buy plant based yoghurt. Sorry, universe!)

I thought I broke my dishwasher. Got very very angry. Used that anger to move my dishwasher from its usual spot. While I had the space: unplug it -because f*ck it, it needs to be unplugged if it gets picked up-. Plugged it back in -because f*ck it, let's try- after ten minutes.

It f*cking WORKS. I was one click away from ordering a new refurbed one.

Question: am I the only 40+ person who keeps searching for 'the adult in the room' when entering a space? Like.. when I enter (let's say) a waiting room, I scan: toilet, exits, adult who can step in when emergency happens..

I often assign the 'adult role' to 20-somethings and I have NEVER considered that I may be the adult in the room.
