The Elephant Trunk Nebula IC1396A in the constellation Cepheus. About 2400 light years form earth. Dark nebula that is thought to be a region of star formation.

M101 the Pinwheel Galaxy. About 21 million light years from earth in the constellation Ursa Major. Approx 252,00 lights years across. The 6 defraction spikes on the stars are a result of having 3 spider vanes to hold the secondary mirror instead of the usual 4. Typical Takahashi weirdness.
