Very much enjoyed an intense two days at the #ZMSBw in Potsdam with an exciting conference on #gender in (anti-)colonial #warfare. Unfortunately, the beautiful conference venue previously held stables, and the pillars for the boxes stand in the way of a full view of the presentations. Yet, a great place for exchange and discussion!

Thanks to the lovely colleagues in #Basel who invited me to present my research at their premodern #history colloquium last night! I thoroughly enjoyed it and got a great #view from my cozy historic hotel room.

Happy new year, folks!

Good morning, everyone! Yesterday was the memorial service for the wonderful math teacher I had the privilege of getting to know during my high school exchange year in the US (looong ago, in the last millenium). I joined his AP Calculus class only in the second semester, so he took on the daunting task of teaching me derivatives and integration at the same time - and did so successfully. He made this highschool in South Carolina a welcoming place.
