Dear Friend , Voices Found & March Mayhem So, my dear subscribers and readers (I welcome new ones with open arms), As promised, I have found a narrator for the new book, The Curse of the Hald-Breeds — and he is committed to finishing in early April. This is no April Fool’s joke. We were all rather saddened when our beloved Sean, who narrated the first volume of Levelling Up Together, disappeared due to difficult personal circumstances (the details remain unknown to me). But fate had other plans. I’ve now found a new young narrator whom I cannot wait to introduce to my Fantasy readers. You’ll meet him sooon — and he is no less talented. And here’s the charming part: he’s a D&D player himself. Yes, truly. I take that as an excellent omen. And there’s more good news for my Sci-fi lovers. Some of you may remember that the fourth (and for now final) book in the Who Is Vist series — Who Was Vist — took quite some time to find the right voice. Well… during my recent search, I may have stumbled upon the perfect narrator for that volume as well. This young man works quickly, so I might have another announcement for you in my next letter. But let us not rush ahead of ourselves. March will be busy-busy. I have only a few days left to finish the second volume of When Platinum Rusts, so I must hurry. Chapter 13 is waiting, and the characters are once again refusing to obey me. As Aristotle (possibly) said, “the soup is getting cold.” See you in March. Dear Friend , Hello friends, Spring is starting to stretch its legs here. The cats have resumed their garden patrols, new vegetable seeds are lined up on the windowsill, and I’m attempting some new tomatoes and chillies this year — optimism firmly switched on. The baby fish have spent winter indoors in their tank and are growing fast, changing colours, which feels magical. For my SCI-FI clever readers: Book 2 – When Platinum Rusts will be completed by mid-March, with publication to follow once editing is complete. We’re firmly on course now, and I can’t wait to share the next stage of that journey with you. This volume will link two series together, and we meet Vist in his (or her) teens. You will have a final piece of the story to decide who is Vist. For those who haven't tried Book 1, it is right here. I suspect it will take a while before I can come back to Noverca to continue. For my FANTASY adult readers: Just as promised, the sequel LitRPG fantasy The Curse of the Half-Breeds is out now in Kindle and paperback. Meet me in Zemeland and join the NEW game — and yes, the halfling Digram Oldbook returns, complete with a brand-new song (he has rather a fan club now). The audio version will take time, as usual, but it will happen. For Book Three, I’ll be inviting you to help choose the villain for the next four players, so sharpen those imaginations. Thank you, as always, for reading, listening, and being part of these worlds. More soon — and hopefully with muddy hands and seedlings to report. Don't forget to pick your preferred social media platform to follow and support me, as you are the only reason I am creating these worlds. And don't forget to subscribe to those wonderful authors (see below) whose books I am featuring for you to explore. Grab a free e-book, meet some truly talented storytellers, and consider keeping those subscriptions to them if they steal your heart. And that, dear readers, is all from me until next time. Dear Friend , Hello again, brave survivors of January, Well done to all of us for making it to the other side. January is not a month — it’s an endurance test with the weather. It’s been relatively uneventful in my little writing world, though a few things did stir in the shadows: First, the Fantasy LitRPG sequel, The Curse of the Half-Breeds, is due back from Andy, the best editor, any day now. So keep a watchful eye on the next letter — it will arrive armed with links and good intentions. Second, a small experiment escaped into the wild: My short story Heist in Spades, paired with AI images and human narration, is currently living on YouTube. For now, that’s its only habitat. If you love steampunk fashion and crime investigation, and enjoy a story where one of the characters is Reason itself, and you have 40 minutes to spare, do give it a watch and let me know what you think in the YouTube comments. And once again: KUDOS to the wonderful Hannah Preisinger and her sheer brilliance. Extra bonus discovery for you: If you’re wondering whether English wine from Missing Gate Vineyard (Essex) is actually good, go and try it for yourself. You genuinely won’t regret it. I had their permission to mention them in the story. Further afield, I recently joined Canadian author Alessandra (A.R.) Torre’s online 5 Days to 10K Writing Challenge. Three 1-hour sessions a day! Sadly, the time difference meant the live sessions happened at 1 a.m. — and I am many things, but nocturnal is not one of them. Still, the challenge worked its magic: I added roughly 6,000 words to When Platinum Rusts: V2. That’s three chapters and puts me well past the halfway mark. Very much work in progress, but progress nonetheless. Closer to home, my fellow authors in Essex are also hard at work. Our monthly sprint-writing sessions continue to take over the local café, and this month marked three years of doing just that. So much was written in that room!!! In this letter, I’d love to introduce those of you who enjoy — or want to explore — something a little different to a selection of genres, including love adventures. So dip a toe outside our beloved genre waters, I recommend: Lizzie Chantree | Escape with some uplifting romance. Also Grab a free e-book, meet some truly talented storytellers, and consider keeping those subscriptions to them if they steal your heart. And that, dear readers, is all from me until next time. February awaits — shorter, brighter, and far less judgmental. Warm wishes, Anka B Troitsky ✨ Please, please, please click on these Free (and not) e-books below (Nothing to lose, loads to gain)

Dear Friend , To all my friends and followers. Dear lovely readers, As this year gently winds down, I just wanted to pop into your inbox to say thank you. Truly. Your support, messages, reviews, and quiet reading time have meant more to me than you probably realise, and I’m so grateful you’ve been part of this journey with me. I also wanted to share a little bit of good news before we turn the page. My audiobook, When Platinum Rusts: Outside the Script (a biopunk dystopian fantasy), is now available on Audible, and I’m ridiculously proud of it. If you’d like a US or UK promo code, reply to this email, and I’ll happily send one your way. A special round of applause is absolutely due for the narrator, Hannah Preisinger — her performance brought the story to life in ways I never imagined, so if you do listen, please consider leaving her a review too. Narrators don’t get nearly enough love, and it really does make a difference. Looking ahead to 2026, my very first project will be the sequel to When Platinum Rusts: Ipsum — oooh! I hope some of you remember that name. I already have the first eight chapters and the final chapter written, so it’s really just one last push to bring it all together. And before that, very likely in February, my fantasy sequel in the Levelling Up Together series will be released: The Curse of the Forgotten Five. If you’re curious, songs from this LitRPG are already popping up in my YouTube Shorts — do subscribe if you’d like to follow along and enjoy the ride. Before I sign off for the year, I’d also love to invite you to explore some fellow authors in similar genres to mine. There are some fantastic free e-books out there right now, perfect for discovering new voices and stories you might not otherwise stumble across. Thank you again for being here, for reading, listening, and supporting independent stories. I wish you a peaceful end to the year and a New Year filled with good books, curious minds, and moments of quiet joy. The end of the war would be good, but I am afraid to wish for it now, as I do every day anyway. Happy New Year, and all my very best wishes, ❄️☃️ Yours, Anka B Troitsky Please, please, please click on these Free e-books below (Nothing to lose, loads to gain)
