Today someone (who is not on Mastodon) released a collection of more than 570 distinct operating systems, pre-installed with VM configurations for the 250+ different platforms, going back all the way to 1948.

Now, I have to admit I'm posting this without trying it myself, as I'm running low on disk space on this machine.

Because the full download is 121GB (174GB unzipped!). There is also a lighter version at 14GB that will download stuff on demand.

Over 1,700 pre-installed operating systems spanning 1948 to today, in a single Linux VM. Bundled QEMU, VirtualBox, and UTM. One-click launchers for Windows and Linux.

After verifying that it can do all of the expected normal car things, I asked the new Rivian Assistant to “write me a python script that reverses a string” and it proceeded to recite the contents of a python script over text-to-speech. 10/10 no notes.

I'm about to say something I haven't said in 8 years: I'm looking for a full-time job.

I'm looking for the right role with the right people and the right mission, all of which I've laid out in this blog post. I'm mostly interested in something new, so if this sounds like your team I'd love to talk. https://fabisevi.ch/2026/04/29/open-to-work

Both inquiries and reposts would be incredibly appreciated. 🙇🏻‍♂️

Open To Work

I won't bury the lede, I'm looking to go back to work full-time. I'm thankful to not be under financial strain, so I'm not rushing into anything. Instead I'm coming at this from a place of genuine interest in finding the right opportunity for me. Recently I've had some great conversations with interesting companies, and it helped me realize that there are some things I miss about not being an indie. I'm putting this post out into the universe to find the right fit, and the best place to start is to tell you why I'm going back to work and what I'm looking for.

This reminds me of when social media companies abused -canOpenURL: on iOS and Apple nerfed the API years ago

If you liked all my rope physics simulation with SwiftUI, I made an entire (free!) game out of it: Tethered. You play as a humble rope just trying to survive an onslaught of enemies using your own cunning and some very helpful powerups. It's launching RIGHT NOW!

is there a way to configure which window safari opens a link click from another app in? it tends to pick minimized windows for some reason
