RIP to my sweet little Lurleen. Here she is with four of her babies, three of whom were also killed this week, and it was 100% my goddamn fault. I don’t ever want to be responsible for animals again. I just keep letting them get killed over and over again.
I am way more upset than I think I should be about an animal with a brain smaller than a pecan that probably would have died in the next year or two anyway.
I tell my kid if he has to walk up and down the stairs at night, he needs to do it like he is sneaking back into the house after coming back from a drug party at 4 am, and he still makes us feel like we’re in a drum down here.
Either I never need to worry that my kid is sneaking out because he is incapable of walking without shaking the house, or he’s playing a looooooooooong game.

If you enjoy non-fiction unsolved mystery podcasts that don’t involve murder, you’ve got to check out One Strange Thing. This lady’s narration is just great. Her voice is so soothing, calm and professional and she says the most out of pocket things… I’ve heard a couple of podcast episodes about the Mad Gasser of Matoon or the Phantom Barber of Pascagoula, but none I’ve heard previously have made me guffaw throughout.
