Man From Utopia, by Rick Griffin (1972)

Rick Griffin was an artist known for his psychedelic concert posters and album covers for the Grateful Dead (Aoxomoxoa), as well as underground comix such as Zap Comix.

I recall getting this comix from a record store/head shop in the mid 70's.

Got Pizzazz!?

Here's a "strange" rock quartet, from the Pizzazz pop culture magazine (Feb. 1978).

Doctor Strange on eldritch guitar, Linda Ronstadt on vibrant vocals, Captain America with a grooving grin on bass, and C3PO banging on the drums all day!

Sharp view into a Yucca

A top-down view of a Yucca plant. We have many of these on our land in northern Arizona. Mesmerizing sword leaves and delicate thread filaments.

I am not a naturalist, but this could be a Yucca baileyi (Navajo yucca) or a Yucca filamentosa (Adam's Needle).

Strange Adventures 164 (May 1964)

I was fascinated with this story of a man who went on a road trip to visit his home town. Passing into a mysterious green mist, he walked to his town to find it was inhabited by robots! The robots were people from a crashed spaceship, and the mist was lethal to their bodies so they transferred their minds into robots to survive.

Many years later, I had a dystopian dream where my mind was also transferred to a robot to survive!
