New library resource offers access to history through newspapers

STEUBENVILLE — Steubenville Newspapers Digitized is a new e-resource at the Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County that gives easy access to local newspapers, beginning with The Western Herald, first published in 1806, which grew into the Herald-Star. Oceanside/Island Park Herald archives go digital, ending microfilm era

Library patrons once had to rely on microfilm to search past editions of the Oceanside/Island Park Herald, threading reels into bulky readers and scanning pages by hand to find specific articles.
